Well-protected from the unwanted visitors, KsarAit Ben Haddouwas an important stop on the road of the caravan coming from Sahara and heading to Marrakech. Today, the site illustrates Morocco’s spectacular southern architecture and lifestyle. The town’s residents live in a village on the other bank of the river and only very few of them still live in the Ksar.

Every year, the locals celebrate the Mousem of Moulay Abdelkader Jilali which is a festival honouring Moulay Abdelkader who is believed to be a saint.
At the outskirts of the town, a mural painting that substitutes the original sign indicates “Tombouctou 52 days” to refer to the time needed to get there by foot or by camel. Zagora is known for its oasis and its family farming of dates.

Ouarzazate is a lovely magical city situated in the south of Morocco. It is the opening gate of the great south of the country from which all enchanting treks are initiated.
Famous for its multiple Kasbahs, Ouarzazate looks like a big remote network of magical constructions built by the locals who are in the most part Berbers.
