One of the many reasons to visit Morocco is this singular mixture of beautiful diverse landscapes, rich discernible culture and significant influential history. The beginning will be with the spiritual capital Fes, then a discovery journey to the Atlas Mountains and the Sahara desert just to head after that to the enthusiastic Marrakech for few nights. The last stop is the coastal town of Essaouira. We suggest another itinerary which is not quite different and which combines Fes with the “Moroccan Circle” by way of the train network. The two options should be taken into consideration before confirming your booking.
This trip consists of, 3 nights in Fez, 3 nights in Marrakesh,3 nights in Sahara and 3 nights in Essaouira
Once you arrive at Fes International Airport, you will be met by your driver who will take you for the short drive to your boutique Riad, where you will be warmly greeted and welcomed. After check in, you will take time to familiarise yourself with your room and enjoy the facilities the Riad can offer. This evening you will have the chance to wander around the labyrinth of streets in the old medina of Fes, before you enjoy some of the delicacy of the gastronomy of this wonderful imperial city.
Good morning Fes! Time to close the civilisation doors behind you, get on the magic carpet and fly through the labyrinths of Fes. Led by a professional knowledgeable local guide, you will discover thousands of years of history in a city that has always enjoyed high intellectual and religious status. The medina in Fes is one of the largest in the World. In its immense and confusing warren of souks are thousands of craftsmen with their tiny shops opening onto the narrow alleyways. Noisy and pungent, hot and claustrophobic, the medina of Fes is a totally absorbing and unique experience.
Behind each piece of craft is a story. A story of the life of a person that shaped the way the city looks like. Your Professional Guide will explain to you how each piece become a landmark. You will understand the history of the place and people just by understanding their craft.
Today you will drive to one of our most favourite and recommended destinations: The Blue Pearl of Morocco. Chefchaouen is a small, quiet, picturesque city located in northern side of Morocco. The city is named after the shape of the mountain tops above the town, which look like two goat horns (chaoua). This city is known for its buildings painted in shades of blue. Situated on the Rif mountains just inland from Tangier and Tetouan, the city was discovered in 1471. It was a small fortress by Moulay Ali Ben Moussa Ben Rached El Alami.
Chefchouen is a popular location for its native handcrafts such as wool garments and woven blankets, which are not available anywhere else in Morocco.
At the end of this eventful experience we will return to Fez.
Today you’ll be met at your riad by your driver so as to take you on a mesmerizing four days trip through the Atlas Mountains and the Desert. From Fes, the scene dynamically transforms while advancing southwards from the Middle Atlas Mountains, going through cedar forests populated by the Barbary macaques, the little town Azrou, and Ifran all the way to the Sahara desert beautified by the high sand dunes.
Today you will visit a lake that comes into life after precipitation inviting admirable flocks of pink flamingos and sometimes some other rare birds to rejoice the blue lake water, the bleak Hammada and the red dunes adding a majestically eye-catching scene to the fascinating charm of the sand dunes and awakening the visitor’s inner photography artist. Your under stars night will be spent in a desert bivouac where it will start at dusk and end at dawn; the most stunning and appropriate moments of the day to enter the desert.
Following your night out in the desert, it’s time to go back to the auberge, wash the sand but not the sensational amusement away and have breakfast to get ready for your trip to the Atlas Mountains. En route, a delectable lunch welcomes you at Todra Gorge with its twisting roads and river fissures. Your last stop today will be 200 km west Todra Gorges in the late afternoon at a UNESCO- listed site and a famous scene for Hollywood film makers Kser Ait Ben Haddou.
On your seventh day, your adventure continues towards Marrakech passing by Telouet; the old Berber fortress in the Atlas Mountains, by way of the highest major mountain pass in North Africa named Tizi n’Tichka. The road then ascends to over 6000 feet and subsequently descends to Marrakech where you will spend a night at one of the splendid Riads.
Make sure to explore all facets of the ochre city and to compose intoxicating mesmerizing memories during the following couple of days. Marrakech is known for its hot weather especially during summer; hence, Your private guide and driver will make you start visits with open places such as Majorelle Gardens in the early morning so as to fully enjoy the serene cheerful garden before it is heated and crowded. You will also visit the various touristic attractions and historical monuments such as El Koutoubia, the Souks and the Saadian Tombs during the day. A traditional Moroccan exfoliation and massage in a local hammam is a must-do. Don’t forget to explore Jemaa el-Fna Square that transmogrifies into a vivid splendid place full of scents and melodies in the evening.
It is time to say good bye to this vibrant beautiful city! After you enjoy your breakfast you will head to the coastal town of Essaouira. On your way you will enjoy the vast fields of Argan trees and few Argan Oil Cooperatives, where the local women would be happy to show you the process of extracting the golden oil from the Argan nuts. After you arrive at your hotel, take your times to familiarise yourself with the hotel or Riad facilities and you could spend the rest of day walking around the beachside feeling the breeze before you set for your dinner in some of the nicest restaurant in the town.
These few days are reserved for a visit to the artistic windy city of Essaouira. One of the Portuguese fortresses from the 15th century. A city where wood handicraft merges with culinary arts, fisheries, windy beaches and UNESCO-classified heritage- the “Medina”-. Once there, you have many options. You may go for activities like quad biking, surfing, horse trekking and wind surfing, especially that the city is known for its great beaches and surf activities.
